They look suspiciously like the ones that nearly fell on my head when I was breaking up a disused Mud-dauber's nest.... I was breaking it up with the handle of a broom and suddenly thought that I should step back in case there were wasps in the nest. Luckily I did because hundreds of baby spiders dropped exactly where I had been standing.
They are lovely, though... Just better where they are.
My mum didn't like spider webs, and she sometimes used a lot pole, tied a piece of cloth and dip it in kerosene to burn them. Then she realised shw left black marks on the ceiling. So she stopped.
